My dear friends in Christ,
It is with great joy that I welcome you to this Website and invite your generous heart to support the Missions of the Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, Nigeria, in West Africa.
I am Father Akan Sylvester Simon, the President of the Diocese of Ikot Ekpene Office for the Missions USA. I am a Priest of the Diocese of Rockford, Illinois, USA; a Citizen of the United States of America; but born and raised in a rural village about half an hour from the city of Ikot Ekpene. You can learn more about my home village Church of St. Joseph by clicking here.
While serving as a Priest in the United States, I am blessed to maintain a close relationship with family and friends back home. I owe so much to them, and also to my home Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, from which my life and faith were first nurtured and my calling to the Priesthood was discovered and formed. I am eternally grateful, and one way of showing my gratitude to them is by assisting with the Missions Appeal to support their many needs.
Please browse this site to learn more about my home Diocese in Nigeria and the various needs that your donations help to meet. If you have questions, please let me know through the contact page, and I will assist you promptly.
God bless you, and thank you for your interest.
Fr. Akan Sylvester Simon
President, Diocese of Ikot Ekpene Office of the Missions USA
