We are grateful to share a joyful update from the Queen of Apostles Seminary in Afaha Obong, where the community recently gathered for a significant milestone in academic completion and spiritual formation. On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the seminary hosted its 2025 Graduation and Induction ceremony, marking both a conclusion for departing students and a new beginning for those entering the path of formation.
The celebration began with the Holy Mass, the source and summit of our faith, presided over by the Proprietor of the Seminary, Most Rev. Camillus R. Umoh, the Catholic Bishop of Ikot Ekpene Diocese. Following the liturgy, the Rector of the Seminary, Rev. Fr. Anthony C. Okon, presented 102 new students for induction and 63 graduands for their official graduation.
Six Years of Formation and Excellence
In his remarks, Bishop Umoh encouraged the 63 graduands to be good ambassadors of the Church. He reminded them that their six years of training—spanning moral, spiritual, and educational growth—has prepared them to serve the world with integrity and faith.
The ceremony included formal induction rites and a symbolic reception for the new seminarians, while the graduands were officially received into the Seminary’s Alumni Forum. The day also highlighted academic and personal excellence through the presentation of certificates and awards. Among the honorees were:
• Wisdom Chibuike: Recognized as the Best Graduating Student.
• Saviour Aaron: Honored as the Best Behaved Student.
A Community of Support
The event was graced by several distinguished guests who offered goodwill messages, including the Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Uwem Peter Imoh-Ita; the Diocesan Laity Council President, Kt. Cyprian Enang; and the Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association, Kt. Ubengama.
The success of these students is a testament to the resilience and growth of the Diocese of Ikot Ekpene. We are deeply thankful to the benefactors and partners whose prayers and support make this vital seminary formation possible. Your commitment ensures that these young men receive the education and spiritual guidance necessary to lead the Church into the future.
To God be the glory for these new ambassadors and the continued mission of the Queen of Apostles Seminary
